FTJ, Entry 11: How to Tow, Backwards

Yesterday, we braved the rain to explore Burlington. I snapped this photo of Miss Vermont (well, okay, so I did not capture her "best" side!). She was apparently in town to do some advertising shots for a local jeweler.

A couple of other Burlington photos -- it is a charming college town with a great pedestrian mall and wonderful old buildings.

Oh -- and we broke the law AGAIN, bringing Buddy into the Olive Garden for lunch. Below, the photographic evidence -- you can just see the top of the dog carrier under my arm!

My God it rained last night! Somehow, we managed not to float away. The good news? No leaks in The Beast.

We got up bright and early today and Beau got soaked unhooking in the pouring rain. But it had to be done, in that we had a long drive ahead to the KOA in Plattekill, NY.

The only other events of note from today include the amazing "raging" rivers we saw on the way south from Vermont to New York, and another RV-ing learning experience: When you overshoot a turn at the RV campground, you CAN back up with a tow vehicle -- that is, if your wife is in the tow vehicle backing up at the same time!  Another screwup that turned out okay -- sort of.

More interesting stuff tomorrow, after the West Point football game.

Tanks, Panky

  1. So it really does rain in Burlington. Sounds like Buddy is enjoying his retirement. Everyone has one experience of strinking camp in the rain and it is not fun. Have fun in NY and at the game.
