FTJ Entry 14: Museum Buddy

Yes, folks, we did it again. Buddy is having a whale of a time on this trip - this stop, he visited the Gettysburg Vistor Center, where he took in the movie and then saw the incredible Cyclorama, created by French artist Paul Philppoteaux. We had a few tense moments, but even through loud noises, cannon blasts, rifle fire, etc., Buddy was quiet -- taking it all in, I think. He was a solemn pup, and did this sacred place proud by behaving perfectly.

Here, photographic evidence of his visit. He is traveling, as usual, in the black bag.

Beau was intent on finding BBQ for lunch -- I think he should start his own barbeque blog! -- and we finally found Johnny Corbin's BBQ, where we froze our butts off to eat ribs and pulled pork on the outdoor porch (with Buddy in tow). Great food!  In the raw rainy weather, we were the only customers, so we got to know the owner Scott a bit. Here he is.

Anyway, he told us that right before Labor Day, Michelle Obama and her girls had eaten at his establishment, and he had the pictures to prove it. We also saw an article on the First Lady's visit in the Gettysburg Experience.  Cool.

Some other shots from the first day -- tomorrow we are getting a guided tour of the battlefields by a ranger in our car! Cannot WAIT. The history lesson should be intense.

Sorry, didn't get the name. But it is taken on Cemetery Ridge.

Buddy and Beau Get Clean Together

Had to include this photo -- don't be shocked, but it is of Beau and Buddy in the shower. Buddy was scroungy, and our sink is tiny, so I suggested that the boys take a shower together.  Too funny!

There is more to tell -- such as the first battle scar on the RV (Beau had a run in with a tree), but it is dark out and I will have to remember to take the photo tomorrow).

That's enough for tonight!

Hope all our friends are doing well -- we miss you!

Tanks, Panky
